Kevin Monroe     6,5,5,5,5,6,5,5,5/5,7/-/5,6,5 75 1.2 1.3 1.56 117 Kit came out active. Stiff breeze took birds off for about 5 minutes and seemed to affect quality. Birds kitted very tight but appeared a little worn out in the roll.
Kenny Libbick     5,8,7,5/5,5/- 35 1.3 1.1 1.43 50.05 Nice active young team that stiff breeze seemed to push a little high and to the side. Short nice spins in this team that broke quite a bit but not enough birds committing to the roll to be scored. Nice potential as this team matures.
Jimmy Moore     5,5,6/5,5/-/- 26 1.3 1.1 1.43 37.18 Kit flew a little fast and never seemed to settle in. Nice short spinners in this young team that as they get older could do much better.
Homer Griggs     5,5/-/-/6,5 21 1.3 1.2 1.56 32.76 Birds wouldn't elevate in still air during judging time. Nice A style deep individuals in this team that broke quite a bit but timing was off. Would have scored more if they went up. A breeze picked up and about 20 minutes after judging was over this team put on a nice show with several big breaks that could have scored 10 . Homer is just getting back into rollers and should be quite happy with this team. Expect to hear more from him in the future!
Joe Dan Parson     5/5/6/- 16 1.2 1.2 1.44 23.04 Wind pushed birds away and birds never settled in as they flew side to side in crosswind. A Hawk came under them at about the 11 minute mark.
Daryl McAffee     -/5,5/5/5 20 1.1 1.0 1.1 22 Out birds most of the time and with only 15 birds to fly couldn't score much. Birds were short in roll.
Jimmy Moore #2     -/6/-/- 6 1.2 1.0 1.2 7.2 Flew in bright hot sky in mid-afternoon and birds spiraled up as if sucked up in a vacuum. Dotted out and disappeared above crossing layers of clouds. Fortunately the birds did make it back later on for Jimmy.
Michael Baldwin     -/5/-/- 5 1.2 1.1 1.32 6.6 Birds flew side to side in still air as if looking for something to set up in to. Exceptional very deep Rec Red put on quite a show in a kit of mostly individual rolls.
Michael Baldwin #2     -/-/-/- 0 - - - 0 All individual rolls with several nice spinners.
Bob Scott     -/-/-/- 0 - - - 0
Clint Chilton               DQ Two birds down at 8 minutes. Clint was hit hard by recent tornadoes that tore his loft up and put a kit box in his front yard! Several nice deep spinners in this team.
Clint Chilton #2               DQ Four birds down at 13 minutes. Out birds didn't help. A number of nice deep individual spinners in this group. Good job by Clint recovering from tornado damage.

Don Macauley #2 17 Scattered, Slight Breeze, 78 6,5,5,7/9,10,7,9,6/-/- 74 1.6 1.4 2.24 165.76 Took a little for birds to settle in and then started working well.  A few out birds here and there.  Nice fast spinners committing to the roll.  Falcon attack at the 11 minute mark ruined the show.  Timeout given but no more scoring after attack.
Don Macauley 16 Scattered, Calm, 65 7,9,9/5,6,10/5/- 61 1.5 1.3 1.95 118.95 Tight kitting team that was crisp in the roll showing good quality.  Birds were quiet between breaks and kept elevating, then went a little too high.
Vinson Poe  18 Overcast, Slight Breeze, 70 6,5/-/-/- 11 1.2 1.2 1.44 15.84 Young bird team that had a few breaks early then flew in defense mode the rest of the fly.   A out bird in and out of the team kept them spooked.  You could see this team had been attacked by the BOPs plenty of times.  In spite of predator problems, Vinson is making good progress with good spin showing in his program.
Al Frazier 17 Overcast, Slight Breeze, 70 -/5/-/- 5 1.1 1.2 1.32 6.60 His birds were flat today and showed the signs of being locked down for several weeks as he was down on birds and did not want to lose too many to falcon so that he could fly.  We have seen much more at his house and he will show more in the future.
Richard Macauley 18 Scattered, Slight Breeze, 82 5/-/-/- 5 1.1 1.1 1.21 6.05 Active entertaining group with a number of nice individuals, but too many out birds and birds split up as they went high.
Ricky "Rat" Drew 20 Scattered, Calm, 70 5,9,5,5/9,10,9,5/-         DQ Very active team that started to put on a nice show but wouldn't elevate.  Timing was off on some breaks as the kit stood low and after several nice breaks at the 10 minute mark most birds landed at the 11 minute mark for DQ.  This team had the potential to win the fly.   Would have given a 1.3 Q and 1.5 D as birds were deep but kitted well overall.   Nice progress by Rat, who has steadily improved his program and will be heard from in the near future.
Marvin Gibson 17 Scattered, Calm, 60           DQ Three birds stood below kit upon release.   Rest of birds started out with a real nice break then were quiet.  Two birds down at 12 minutes.  Six weeks prior his birds did quite well during our local club fly but the falcons have just decimated his birds and numbers are way down.  Marvin keeps on weathering the storm and making what progress he can in unfriendly skies.
Al Laushual 17 Overcast, Slight Breeze, 70           DQ Two birds down at seven minutes.  Al had to scrap together some more birds and settle them in a short time in order to fly.  Falcons and updrafts causing too many loses.  Al is passionate about his birds and will make progress in the future.
Vinson Poe Jr 16 overcast, Slight Breeze, 75           DQ Young birds that did not elevate and several down at the eight minute mark.  Young Vince is getting started with his own kit and will do better in the future.
Luce Ruiz 15 overcast, Slight Breeze, 75           DQ One bird down at 10 minutes. Nice active youngsters showing good potential with nice individuals that will get better as they mature.
Mike Banks               DNF Mike had to work until later in day and as rain came in we didn't try to fly his young bird team to support the fly.
Marvin Gibson #2               DNF We opted not to fly Marvin's youngsters as we had enough kits on the board and no need to pad master flier points with a very young kit that was not ready to perform as a team.
Dale Hadley               DNF Dale was under the weather but still offered to fly his kit if we needed him to, but there was no need to.
Al Laushual #2               DNF Very young birds not ready to compete so we did not fly as we had enough kits on the board and no need to fly just to pad master flier points.
Willie Sims               DNF Willie had family in town and opted not to fly his young bird team unless we needed him to.
Predators have had a negative impact on most fliers in our region, as well as severe updrafts well beyond normal here this spring have made it difficult to keep birds around and the ones we could keep around we had a tough time keeping down!   We struggled to fly World Cup this year, but we were able to have enough folks step up and fly to support our region.

Team broke big but wind made it hard to score.  Timing off on some breaks or would have scored more.
Don Ouellette 17 Clear, slight breeze, 76 5,6/5,7,6/6,6,7/6,7,5 66 1.4 1.4 1.96 129.36 Nice spinning kit with good timing on the breaks that made it easy to score, but was quiet between the  breaks.  Quality and depth got better the second half.  1 bird down at 12 minutes.
Mike Wolden #2 20 Clear, Strong Wind, 60 6/7/5/7,8,5 38 1.3 1.3 1.69 64.22 Tight kitting team that did the best they could in strong winds, but really didn't stand much of a chance.  Would have liked to seen this team in better conditions.
Stan Pryor 18 Clear, Windy, 69 5,6/6,5/6,5/6 39 1.2 1.2 1.44 56.16 Mixed age kit that handled wind well and would have scored more if better timing on breaks.  Nice job with mixed age kit by first time flier Stan!
Ramsey Aljouni 20 Scattered, Strong Wind, 68 5,5/-/5/6 21 1.2 1.2 1.44 30.24 Kit that got blew all over the place by wind but held together well. Just no chance in conditions.
Sal Ibarra 17 Clear, Slight breeze, 62 5,5/5,5/-/- 20 1.3 1.1 1.43 28.60 Some nice short spinners in this kit.  Timing was off on several breaks.  Sal put up what he had left to fly due to predator losses.
Mike Wolden 20 Overcast, Strong Wind, 55 6/7/-/- 13 1.3 1.3 1.69 21.97 Just too windy for this team that kitted tight and held together in poor conditions.  No chance.
Ronnie Thrower 18 Scattered, Strong Wind, 65 6,5,5/-/-/- 16 1.2 1.1 1.32 21.12 Wind blown kit that broke at least once a minute but not enough birds rolling to score.
Mariah Wolden 20 Overcast, Strong Wind, 52 5/-/-/5 10 1.3 1.2 1.56 15.6 Strong cold wind didn't give birds a chance.  Team kitted well and did what they could, but no chance.
George Aldana #2 20 Scattered, Strong Wind, 70 6/-/-/5 11 1.2 1.1 1.32 14.52 Too windy.  Blew birds away. They did their best to stay together and work, but no chance.  After time wind calmed down a little and bird worked well.
Ronald Ross 15 Clear, Windy, 60 5/-/-/- 5 1.2 1.2 1.44 7.2 Wind blew kit around and with only 15 birds to fly out birds hurt on some breaks.  Wind hurt timing as well.  Nice Recessive Red showed out in this team.
Bobbie King 17 Scattered, Strong Wind 5/-/-/- 5 1.2 1.1 1.32 6.6 Wind blown kit that broke 14 to 15 times but not enough birds rolling to score.
George Aldana 20 Scatted, Strong Wind, 70 -/-/-/- 0 - - - 0 Bird got blown off.  Just too windy.  No chance.
Dennis Busse #2 18 Overcast, Calm, 55 -/-/-/- 0 - - - 0 Some individual roll at first, but falcon took a bird at the 5 minute mark and they never recovered.
Ronnie Ross 17 Clear, Windy, 73 -/-/-/- 0 - - - 0 Wind pushed birds away.  Once they regrouped a hawk attack at 8 minutes and then a falcon attack at 13 minutes gave them no chance.
Jimmy "Slack" Williams 18 Scattered, Windy, 64 -/-/-/- 0 - - - 0 Falcon took a bird before time in, then a Red Tail came along just to rub it in.  No chance here.
Mack Williams 18 Fog, Windy, 60 -/-/-/- 0 - - - 0 Wind split team up on release and then fog layers rolled in.  At 12 minutes the Red Tail harassed them.  Birds stood no chance in these conditions.
Dennis Busse 17 Overcast, Calm, 55           DQ Birds landed at 7 minute mark.  Seemed afraid to fly.  We found out why on other kit!
Terry Davis 16 Clear, Slight breeze, 73           DQ Birds landed at 5 minutes.  Came out active but acted overheated when landed early.
Terry Davis #2 15 Clear, Slight breeze, 75           DQ Did a little better then first team but landed early at 8 minutes.  Again acted as if overheated.  2 real nice dark checks in this kit.

"Almost all fliers dealt with strong winds that didn't give them much chance.  Falcons and Hawks also made it tough on this group of fliers that flew to support each other, and had a great time no matter what Mother Nature could throw at them!" Don Macauley

Mark Ritter     5,5,5,6,6,8,6,10,7,9,5,6,8,11 118 1.7 1.7 2.89 341.02 I really enjoyed this kit. Great depth and quality rolling. The kit flew low, so I had the feeling the birds were holding back. What if they had been a couple of hundred feet higher? Good luck in the finals Mark.
John Elton     5,5,7,5,8,9,5,7,5 56 1.8 1.9 3.42 191.52 Talk about depth and quality! The birds were going 40 feet plus in the breaks, with some birds going as much as 60 feet deep. One bird was consistently going 80 feet. And the quality was almost as good as the depth. Very smooth, very controlled kit, except for 2 out birds for the last 10 minutes of the fly. His score would have easily doubled if the kit had stayed together. The two best breaks were with two out birds and so they did not count. There were eight breaks that happened with the two out birds. Some of the best overall quality and depth I have ever seen. John flew late Saturday afternoon, and the birds did not come down until the sun had gone down. We had car headlights shining on the loft, and John had a flashlight shining on the loft roof to try to get the birds to come in. Finally, after dark, they all landed and trapped in. Good luck in the finals.
Dave Kowalski     5,8,8,7,6,7,9,5,6,5,5,5,6,5 87 1.5 1.4 2.1 182.7 Another fine kit with lots of action and breaks. The birds had to fight the wind. I am sure they would have done better if there hadn't been so much wind. One very important thing I learned judging this region is that what I call wind, you guys call a breeze. I am just glad I usually do not have to fly in what you guys call a breeze most of the time. Nice kit Dave.
Wayne Feder     6,5,6,5,6,7,5,8,8,6,5 67 1.5 1.7 2.55 170.85 Great kitting and very good figure eight flying pattern. His kit had to contend with some wind, but handled it very well. Nice kit to judge as they stayed off to the south a bit and at about 150 to 200 feet above the ground so I did not have to stare straight up.
Joe Miketon     5,7,5,5,9,6,8,5,7,9 66 1.6 1.6 2.56 168.96 Very good kit with good quality and depth. The kit flew through several potential breaks which was frustrating for me and I am sure for Joe as well. His kit had to contend with some strong winds. There were some top quality birds in this kit.
Kelly Applegate     5,5,6,5,8,6,5,5,5,6,6,5,6,6,7,5 91 1.4 1.3 1.82 165.62 The wind was strong but the kit handled it well. Nice kit that showed some good quality and depth. Because of the wind, the birds dipped down below the trees several times, and I know that there were at least two times that the birds were rolling, but I couldn't see them well enough for them to record a score.
Carlyle Perry     5,8,5,5,8,9,5,5,5,8,7,5,8,8,6,5 102 1.2 1.1 1.32 134.64 This kit was extremely active with lots of action. A lot of waterfall action and milling around which was not scorable. The kit was all young birds, so they will improve and should do well in the fall fly.
Joe Miketon #2     5,5,5,6,6,5,5,7,8 52 1.5 1.4 2.1 109.2 Very windy conditions for Mike's kit. The birds showed some good depth and quality.
Co Thor     5,5,5,5,6,5,6,5,6,5,6,6,5,6 76 1.2 1.1 1.32 100.32 Very active kit for the first 10 minutes, then cooled off for the rest of the fly. Their depth was short, but they should get better with age.
Dave Kowalski #2     6,5,7,8,6,5,5,5 47 1.3 1.2 1.56 73.32 Some good individuals. This kit was fighting rain and wind.
Senad Duzdovic     5,10 25 1.3 1.4 1.82 45.5 It was too windy for the birds to show what they could really do. The wind blew the birds away, and even with a time out, I probably only got to see the birds for a total of about five minutes out of the entire fly, and then they were weaving in and out of the trees. Tough place to fly birds with all the trees, especially when it is windy. Thanks for the ethnic lunch Senad. It was delicious.
Dick Kollman     6,5,5,6,5 27 1.3 1.2 1.56 42.12 The kit was fighting the wind, and did all their scoring in the first five minutes. Some good quality individual birds.
Kelly Applegate #2     5,5,5,5,5 25 1.2 1.0 1.2 30 Birds were short in the breaks. Some quality in some individuals. They will get better as they mature.
Greg Fletcher     5,5,5,5,5 25 1.0 1.0 1.0 25 Birds kitted well. I think one got taken by a cooper hawk. Thanks for putting up a kit Greg.
Senad Duzdovic #2     5,5 10 1.2 1.2 1.44 14.4 The wind was a negative factor for this kit as well. Birds were behind the trees most of the time. I saw some good individual birds.
John Johnson     5 5 1.2 1.2 1.44 7.2 Two out birds hurt score. Some good quality and speed shown by individuals.
John Elton #2     5 5 1.2 1.1 1.32 6.6 These birds did not have a chance from the get go. The birds flew in the worst wind conditions of everyone, and it was pouring down rain, not just raining but torrential. I got soaked. The wind blew the kit away after only two minutes and never did come back into sight.
Mel Stalzer     5 5 1.1 1.1 1.21 6.05 Very light rain and some wind kept the birds from doing their best. A couple of nice individuals Mel. Thank you for competing.
Wayne Feder #2     5 5 1.1 1.1 1.21 6.05 What can I say Wayne? It just was not their day to show off.
Greg Fletcher #2               DQ Two birds rolled down early in the fly.
John Johnson #2               DQ Birds wouldn't get off the roof of the loft.
Ma Lee               DQ The birds did not kit very well, but I saw some of the deepest rollers I have ever seen in this kit. The quality was right up there with the depth. If the birds had not disqualified, I would have given them a quality factor of 1.6 and depth factor of 1.8.
Mark Ritter #2               DQ A bird rolled into the trees at eight minutes and the kit landed with 11:53 left to fly. There was some good rolling, but not much kit action.
Co Thor #2               DQ Miss counted the number of birds in the kit.
Ying Vang               DQ Birds came out hot with some good rolling. Two birds rolled down before time in was called. High winds blew the kit away.

Alou Pon 20 calm           DQ The birds landed at only eight minutes but they had racked up several breaks by that time.  His birds have real potential. Alou flew 20 birds from six different kit boxes.  A few were too hungry and brought the kit down early.  They all went to their own kit box and still kitted nice and rolled nice for eight minutes.  We had never seen that before but were entertained at his ability to put out 20 birds and fly them and have them kit and roll together.  Very nice to watch.
